“Memory Keeper since 2018

Hi! I’M KYLAH!

I’m a full-time mom and full-time photographer who runs on way too much coffee. I’ve been married to my husband, Ian, for 15 years this November, and thanks to his career in the Air Force, we’ve had the opportunity to travel and explore different parts of the United States together. Military life has given our family so many adventures and experiences, and it’s a huge part of who I am today.

We have two amazing kids, Rory and Reese, who keep life fun, busy, and full of laughter. They inspire so much of my love for photography and remind me constantly just how quickly the little moments become memories.

Animals also have a huge place in my heart! I have the best dog ever- Piper! She usually helps me scout out my best locations!!

When I’m not behind the camera, you can usually find me outside tending to my garden, camping with my family, or enjoying the outdoors whenever I can. I also love winding down by playing games with friends we’ve met throughout our military journey — even though we now live all over the country, gaming has been such a fun way for us to stay connected.

I feel incredibly thankful for this life and so grateful that I get to call photography my job. Being trusted to document love, connection, milestones, and memories for families is something I never take for granted.

About Kylah Wheeler Photography | New Jersey Photographer

Hi, I’m Kylah Wheeler — the photographer behind Kylah Wheeler Photography, serving families across New Jersey and the surrounding areas, including Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst (JBMDL). I specialize in documenting real, meaningful moments through natural, storytelling photography that feels genuine, emotional, and timeless.

My work focuses on connection over perfection — the laughter between poses, the quiet in-between moments, and the memories you never want to forget.

A Photographer for Real Life Moments

I offer lifestyle and natural light photography for families at every stage of life. My sessions are relaxed and guided, so you never have to worry about “what to do” in front of the camera — I’ll lead you through it while keeping things comfortable and fun.

I specialize in:

  • Family Photography in New Jersey

  • Newborn Photography (In-Home Sessions with props provided)

  • Maternity Photography

  • Couples Photography

  • Senior Portraits

  • Portrait Sessions

  • Military Family Photography

  • Military Events (Ceremonies, Retirement, Pinning, Change of Command, Homecomings, and more)

  • End-of-life Pet Sessions

Whether we’re documenting a growing bump, a brand-new baby, a chaotic family hug, or a proud military milestone, my goal is always the same: to preserve your story in a way that feels true to you.

In-Home Newborn Sessions

Newborn sessions are offered in the comfort of your home, where everything feels calm, natural, and familiar. I bring all props and setups needed, so you can simply focus on soaking in those early days with your baby while I handle the rest.

Serving Military Families at JBMDL

As a photographer near JBMDL, I have a special appreciation for military families and the unique seasons of life they experience. From deployments to homecomings and everything in between, I understand how quickly time can change — and how important it is to preserve it.

I proudly serve military families with sessions designed to be flexible, stress-free, and meaningful.

My Approach

Photography should feel like an experience, not a performance. My approach is calm, guided, and connection-based. I focus on real emotion, natural interaction, and the little in-between moments that often become the most meaningful images.

I want you to walk away from your session not just with beautiful photos, but with memories of the experience itself.
